During over twenty years of teaching dance, I also taught Pilates based classes to parents of dance students. I found the challenge of encouraging non-dancers to achieve the Posture, Muscle Tone & Nutritional Habits that were second nature to me fascinating.
This was the inspiration for my change of career to Personal Trainer and Nutritional Advisor…
…and my work in this field in turn inspired the creation of Shaw Lifestyle.
As a dance teacher I guided many hundreds of students to develop the Discipline, Commitment & Motivation that dance demands.
I am now dedicated to inspiring my clients to develop these same qualities.
I have been able to combine my passion for teaching, my fascination for anatomy and movement potential, and my own belief in the benefits of wholesome nutrition and an active and healthy lifestyle. I love the opportunity this has given me to help so many people reach a healthier, and ultimately happier, way of life.
As Shaw Lifestyle has evolved, so has my passion for coaching clients to enhance both physical AND mental health, helping them to attain a more holistic sense of well-being. I am proud in my “second career” to have been able to help so many to create the necessary lifestyle tweaks to achieve these goals, and am humbled by their commitment, and by their utmost faith in myself and my methods.
In my quest to further develop my own knowledge and skill base in mental health, I have gained qualifications as a Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) and as a Meditation Personal Trainer (MPT) coach.
After endless requests from clients and friends that I should somehow incorporate my dance background into Shaw Lifestyle, I have also qualified as a Swing Train trainer, helping people to dance themselves fit – both physically & mentally, of course!

“I would never have believed that I could be the kind of woman who exercises regularly and actually enjoys and looks forward to it, but my sessions with Liz have transformed me, physically and mentally. I always imagined that having a personal trainer would just involve me suffering and sweating whilst someone barks commands at me, but my sessions with Liz couldn’t be more different! Liz has worked along with me, not just helping me to become physically fit, but rather has guided me to improve my outlook, changing my thought process in regards to food and exercise, my understanding of nutrition and how I deal with stress, which is usually the underlying cause of all my health and weight concerns. Liz really does listen, she never judges but understands and does everything she can to find workable solutions. Its amazing to feel myself getting fitter instead of fatter and having fun in the process! Her sessions have not just improved my fitness, they’ve improved my life. Couldn’t recommend her highly enough!” MA
