Teen and “tween” fitness sessions are available either ‘live’ or online via Zoom. Session content is dependent on individual need: focus may be more toward improved posture, increased flexibility, overall fitness, positive body image, or may be technique-specific to support participation in a particular sport or other discipline. This will be explored and decided upon during the initial consultation.
With the current statistics for poor mental health in teens and young people it is so important that we help our youngsters to manage mental well-being, and regular exercise should be a vital component of this (for more on managing mental wellness, see my “Tools 4 Teens” programme). For many reasons “fitness” or “PE” options available at high school sometimes fail to incentivise. I have many years of experience in working with these age groups, and of how best to MOTIVATE as opposed to ALIENATE, and I also always work with the aim of discovering other active pursuits that might complement my sessions and keep teens moving.
